Any vote-by-mail ballot cast shall be deemed timely if it is received by the Department of Elections via the United States Postal Service or a bona fide private mail delivery company no later than three days after Election Day.

For the November 8, 2016 election, the deadline is November 14, 2016. When the legal deadline falls on a weekend or state holiday, the deadline moves forward to the next business day.
