How do I apply to be a poll worker in San Mateo County?

The County of San Mateo is now accepting applications from energetic, qualified people to volunteer as Election Officers at the precincts. Depending on your assignment, the stipend ranges from $115.00 to $140.00 for the day, plus $25.00 for the time you spend in training class, if you serve on Election Day. An additional bonus of $8 is offered to those who travel out of their city to serve in a precinct elsewhere and $7 to Inspectors who pick up their supplies. Among your duties will be voter sign-in and ballot distribution. Join the more than 1,600 Election Officers we recruit and train for countywide elections.

This trusted position is ideal for anyone who would like to get a first-hand look at how our system works, and provide neighbors their opportunity to vote. Many Election Officers serve year after year for the experience of being an integral part of the election process. All registered voters are welcome to join the team.
