California Proposition 67: Plastic Bag Ban Veto Referendum

Ballot Summary

A “Yes” vote approves, and a “No” vote rejects, a statute that:

  • Prohibits grocery and certain other retail stores from providing single-use plastic or paper carryout bags to customers at point of sale.
  • Permits sale of recycled paper bags and reusable bags to customers, at a minimum price of 10 cents per bag.

A “Yes” vote means:

A “yes” vote is a vote in favor of upholding the contested legislation banning plastic bags that was enacted by the California State Legislature under the name Senate Bill 270.

A “No” vote means:

A “no” vote is a vote in favor of overturning Senate Bill 270.
