U.S. Senator Cory Booker Endorses Jane Kim for State Senate
San Francisco, CA – Jane Kim’s campaign for State Senate has captured national attention with a high-profile endorsement today from United States Senator Cory Booker (D-NJ). Booker cited Kim’s strong advocacy on behalf of working families in San Francisco in making his endorsement as well as her ability to tackle the challenges facing our entire state.
“As a former mayor I know the difference it can make when you have a strong leader like Jane Kim fighting for your communities. Jane Kim is the kind of leader who will stand up for families to make sure they have access to good-paying jobs, affordable housing and excellent schools. I know Jane; I know her compassion, her principles and her dedication. I know she will be a voice for those who have been left behind and she will work every day to help low-income families become financially stable and middle-income families become financially secure. I proudly endorse Jane Kim for California State Senate,” said Senator Booker.
“Senator Booker has been a leader in the fight to help working families get ahead. I’m honored to stand by him as we push to expand prosperity to more Bay Area residents and I’m honored to have his endorsement,” said Kim.
Booker was elected to the U.S. Senate in 2013, and re-elected to a full term in 2014. He previously served as the mayor of Newark, New Jersey from 2006 to 2013. Booker has been nationally recognized for his advocacy for stronger schools, economic development and crime reduction. Booker is considered to be one of the rising stars of the Democratic Party.
